Royal Enfield is gearing up for launching its new cruiser motorcycle, the meteor on November 6th 2020. Looks like pandemic is not stopping royal Enfield from launching its new bikes. Meteor is said to be catering to those who are into highways and cruising. So, if you like thunderbird, you would definitely like meteor. The name is inspired from the legendary royal Enfield meteor that was there in the market in the old cast iron - gunmetal engine era.
[Update] Royal Enfield's launched three variants of meteor in the November 6th event and they are Fireball, Stellar and supernova. As we guessed earlier, the Meteor will be an evolution to their Thunderbird bikes. The bike comes with a counter balancing shaft to kill vibrations and make the engine refined. Also these models are engineered on top of a newly designed cradle type frame to ensure maximum riding pleasure. The feel is of roadster type and the seats to handle to the riding feel, this is designed from ground up for an enhanced buying, ownership experience. The mass customization option is also available in these models for personalize the bike to an extent to a unique name tag comes from factory with your name on it.
Royal Enfield meteor - Looks
Royal Enfield's proven its ability to make good motorcycles by launching Himalayan and The 650 twins (Royal Enfield Continental gt 650and Interceptor 650). Hope meteor is the next step towards improving the quality of their other bikes. The Royal Enfield meteor looks like every thunderbird owners dream modification. While the thunderbird x pleases young peppy audience, the meteor looks more official like a cruiser. The rear fender mudguard suits more to the cruiser look now.
It maintains the thunderbird feel all along but more traditionally cruiser design elements are now part of the meteor.
Royal Enfield meteor Technical specifications
It is expected that the team at royal Enfield is revealing the 350 cc version of the meteor this November. We truly hope that it will not be a mere change in paint scheme. Like they did with superior models of royal Enfield, technical refinements now. Engine will be of 350 cc single cylinder with the existing power torque and fuel efficiency. We expect better front and rear disc brakes and a slipper clutch mated to machine to stay in par with the main competition of the bike, the Honda ,CB 350 which comes as a technically advanced bike altogether.
Royal Enfield meteor 650?
We strongly feel that there will be a 650 cc bike with a cruiser design also is getting ready in the royal Enfield design and engineering house. As the 650 powertrain is well known and globally recognised as a good bike, it is natural for royal Enfield to implement the 650 essence into more of their bikes. We have seen spy images of such a bike also in some of the discussions happening online
This looks like a test bike and definitely this is going to penetrate the market of smaller triumphs, harley davidsons and other retro mid weight motorcycles. Maybe this is going to kill couple of the opponents in the competition. Because midweight motorcycles are the ones that actually makes some sense. You can use it everyday, you can cruise it on those trip days. You're going to use the bike and that spreads the word to the biking community. Whereas bigger bikes will be staying in garage collecting dust or being transported in trailers for a short fun ride.
Hope the launch will be giving us riders two good commuters- cruiser bikes. I personally want Royal Enfield to grow so that they sell more bikes globally which in turns creates jobs in India. In this pandemic, we need more jobs so that we shall by new bikes to get the economic cycle running. Let's all wait and see what royal Enfield is upto with their meteor models.
