What is Nadhini Good Life Milk and why it is gaining popularity now a days?
As a consumer you might have
noticed milk in tetra packs named Goodlife from Nandhini in the shelves of
supermarkets. Unlike any other milk you would have seen it being stored in
normal temperature. Here I am going to explain briefly about what is the milk
in tetra pack and why it can be stored in normal room temperature.
Nandhini GoodLife is UHT
processed milk. Normal milk is processed or pasteurized with low temperature and
long time so that only pathogens gets killed. In UHT-Ultra High Temperature
pasteurization, the milk is heated to a temperature around 105-115°C for a
flash time say 1-3 seconds thus killing the pathogens and spoilage organisms.
Also the milk is being packed
aseptically (a condition where no microorganisms is allowed to enter the
product) packed into tetra packs. This ensures the milk remains safe even at
room temperatures. Also the milk is homogenized and as a result the fat layer
will not form on storage which makes it fit to use immediately.
From a consumer point of view, Goodlife milk is a convenient
option for those who do not have a refrigerator.
GoodLife has three variants of milk based on fat percentage
- 1. Goodlife gold (4.5% fat)
- 2. Goodlife Toned Milk (3% fat)
- 3. Goodlife slim (<0.5%)
